Specialist Dermatologist

A Specialist Dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists, Dr Ryan De Cruz completed his medical degree at The University of Melbourne, undertaking his residency at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne and advanced training at St. George’s Hospital NHS, London.

With experience working in hospitals across Melbourne and the UK, Dr De Cruz has been appointed Consultant positions at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and The Skin Health Institute.

With a keen interest in the areas of eczema, acne and rosacea, psoriasis, skin cancer management, laser treatment and hair loss disorders, Dr De Cruz is passionate about providing holistic dermatological care and in sharing his knowledge with fellow industry professionals.

Dr. Andrew Freeman

Mohs Surgery Leader, Skin Care Specialist

Dr. Andrew Freeman is a specialist Dermatologist who is accredited to perform Mohs Micrographic Surgery. As well as the surgical treatment of skin cancers, Dr. Freeman has a special interest in acne, hair disorders, full face rejuvenation and laser treatments.

Dr. Freeman was the first Dermatologist based on the Gold Coast to perform Mohs Micrographic Surgery (MMS), a specialised type of skin cancer surgery that has the highest cure rate and lowest recurrence rates of any skin cancer treatment.

As a visiting Dermatologist at Pindara Private Hospital, Pacific Private Hospital, and Gold Coast University Hospital, Dr. Freeman is committed to outstanding patient care. He is also involved in several innovative clinical trials for the treatment of dermatological conditions.

Dr. Shobhan Manoharan is one of Australia’s leading laser dermatologists, specialising in energy-based treatments for both medical and cosmetic dermatology. Based in Brisbane, he is the Medical Director of Dermatology Clinics Australia and founder of DermEd.com.au. Dr. Manoharan has a particular focus on laser rejuvenation, complicated scars, pigmentation, and skin cancer management. With extensive experience from Australia, the UK, and the U.S., he is actively involved in training dermatologists and clinicians. Dr. Manoharan frequently contributes to public education, appearing in media and collaborating with leading publications like Vogue and Marie Claire.

Dr. Sean Arendse graduated from King’s College London and has a background as an emergency consultant at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. He founded Flawless Rejuvenation Skin Clinics in 2007, and enjoys working across both the fields of Emergency medicine and Aesthetic medicine. He is currently a member and on the Board of the Cosmetic Physicians Society of Australia, and 2018 completed a postgraduate diploma in clinical dermatology with Queen Mary’s College London. He has a keen interest in the use of both energy based devices and non energy based treatments in achieving the best aesthetic result for his clients, and is a KOL for a number of injectable and device companies. He has a special interest in Cosmetic medical emergencies which he has published on and is an advocate for safety in the Aesthetic industry.

Dr. Niyati Sharma

Dermatologist

Raised in Melbourne, Dr. Sharma undertook her undergraduate medical degree (MBBS) at Adelaide University before coming back to Melbourne to undertake her internship at Royal Melbourne Hospital. After a few years of working in different parts of Australia, including remote areas, she decided to specialise in Dermatology.
As part of her 4 year postgraduate training, Dr. Sharma spent one year in Singapore at the National Skin Centre learning the nuances of treating Asian skin and diseases. After finishing her Dermatology fellowship exams (FACD), Dr. Sharma undertook a sub-speciality fellowship at Ann & Robert Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago in paediatric dermatology. This institution is a world leader in treating children’s skin diseases. Dr. Sharma worked under the guidance of Professor Mancini and Professor Amy Paller, two prominent figures in dermatology.
Dr. Sharma has also undertaken her Masters of Public Health (MPH), specialising in nutrition, policy and advocacy, at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA. Dr. Sharma opened Inside Out Dermatology to help patients approach their skin diseases in a holistic manner.

She is a dedicated Doctor with over 40 years of experience. She is the founder and CEO of The Skin Lab, and she takes pride in offering high-quality services and caring treatments to her loyal client base. She is passionate about skin health and enjoys working with her patients to assist them in achieving both healthy and beautiful skin.

She opened The Skin Lab in April 2010, after working with consultant dermatologist Dr. Godfrey Wagner at Brisbane’s Terrace Dermatology clinic since 2002. Dr. Jenkins performs skin surgery, assessment of skin problems and a wide variety of cosmetic procedures to enhance the appearance and health of the skin.

She has undertaken extensive laser training and holds a full user license under Queensland Health Radiation Safety Act 1999. She has years of hands-on experience with the use of lasers and utilises the latest technologies in laser and cosmetic medicine She also personally trains the Dermal Therapists that work with her to ensure a high standard of patient care. She is a proud member of the Cosmetic Physicians College of Australia.

Previously, Dr. Heather Jenkins worked for 28 years in general practice with a particular interest in the management of skin disease. She graduated from the prestigious Melbourne University, where she gained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with honours. Outside of work she is a daughter, Wife, Mother to 3, Step-Mother to 2 and Grandmother to four and relishes every moment of family time. She love cooking, gardening, travelling, reading and knitting.

Dr. Darren Ng

Vein & Cosmetic Specialist

Darren graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 2008. Initially, he worked as a general practitioner and played professional basketball for the Adelaide 36ers. After retiring from basketball, he pursued vein management, completing a Fellowship with the Australasian College of Phlebology and receiving extensive training from renowned phlebologist Dr. Anne Padbury.

His passion for cosmetic treatments drove him to further train in lasers and injectables, enabling him to offer comprehensive treatments to his patients.

Kelly George

Kelly George is a Registered Cosmetic Nurse and the Founder of Kelly George Aesthetics, KGA Body and KGA Clinic Coach. Kelly’s career in medical aesthetics began in 2006, when she worked for Allergan Australia. Since then, Kelly’s passion for helping her patients achieve great skin and natural results has been the driving force behind multiple successful businesses, including cosmetic clinics located in Tamworth and Sydney. In 2018, Kelly won The Plastic Surgery Hub’s “Australia’s Favourite Injector” award, and in 2019 was named among the Ultimate 100 Global Aesthetic Leaders. Kelly developed the concept for KGA Body – Australia’s first full range of active skincare designed specifically for the body, and in 2020 launched “Skin & Sass”, a podcast aimed at providing honest information about skin and anti-ageing treatments to consumers. Claire Coulstock

Lecturer, Victoria University

Claire is an academic and clinical educator with the Dermal Science and Therapy discipline at Victoria University. Claire also works in private practice within Melbourne clinics. Claire’s speciality and passion is for multi-modal and wholistic client centred care plans, particularly combining laser and other therapies for management of dermatological conditions and scar minimisation. Claire’s other passion is for continuing education, professional development and networking opportunities.

Within the university she organises industry networking and educational events for students and employer groups to increase engagement and raise the profile and awareness of the Dermal Clinicians scope of practice. Claire brings this expertise to the education portfolio and will be concentrating on the networking and professional development activities for the ASDC.

Alicia Lowther

Alicia began her journey in healthcare with a Bachelor of Nursing in 2005 and transitioned into the aesthetic industry in 2009. Trained by some of Melbourne’s leading Dermatologists, Plastic Surgeons, and Cosmetic Physicians, she gained invaluable experience before relocating to Tannum Sands, where she established her own skin and laser clinic.

A dedicated professional, Alicia continually advances her expertise by attending conferences, seminars, and training sessions. She holds postgraduate certificates in cosmetic nursing and dermatology nursing and is an active member of the Australian Dermatology Nurses Association, the Cosmetic Nurses Association, and the Aesthetic MET (Medical Emergency Team).
